You decided to have birth control to prevent pregnancy due to different reasons such as spacing between children, health complications or recovery from previous pregnancy or miscarriage. To make the birth control method effective, precautions must be followed strictly for each type of birth control method such as the following:

Pills. Pills should be taken everyday. If you miss a single pill, take it on the day you miss it together with the pill for the day. Choose a specific time when you have regular task to do to remind you of the pill to take. If ever you missed two pills in a cycle, be sure to have a back-up contraceptive such as the condom or abstinence. Yasmin or Yaz lawsuit usually have 28-day pack which consists of 21 pills with hormone and 7 reminder pills.

Patch. Never trim or change the shape, size or design of the patch. Do not put it directly on skin with lotion, cream, oil or powder. The patch should be changed every week. Every change put the patch on different part of the body to prevent skin irritation. Remember to use a back-up contraceptive when the patch fell-off accidentally.

Ring. If the ring is removed from the vagina, make sure it is reinserted within three hours for its effectiveness.

Birth Control Shot. Since this is the most practical of all the hormonal contraceptives, make sure to have vaccine every three months on the first day of your menstrual cycle.

Condom. Make sure it has no tear or leak.  Better to wear it before entering the penis into the vagina rather than waiting for the near ejaculation which is risky.

Rhythm Method. Have safe sex only five days before and five days after our menstrual period. Have abstinence on the 14th to 16th days of your period. Always check for ovulation symptoms such as high basal body temperature, clear mucus coming out from vagina and abdominal cramps.
